Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Pai are all beautiful areas in Thailand but offer a very different vibe to the beaches of the South. Instead the north is steeped in culture, beautiful temples and amazing forests and jungles. This is the type of place where you'll discover amazing waterfalls, hot springs and unique hikes.
This is another popular place in Thailand for families to go on holiday. There are lots of beautiful beaches, and great day trips nearby, and it’s a great place to go hiking and eat lots of delicious Thai food.
These are again two popular areas for backpackers, and younger couples. I wouldn’t recommend Phi Phi for families, but if you’re looking to party and visit some beautiful beaches, then it’s a great place to start.
Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. It doesn't have any beautiful beaches on offer, but what it lacks in beaches, it makes up for in cultural beauty. There are amazing temples, lots of great markets (including the iconic floating ones), and some amazing activities. People either love or hate Bangkok, but I love it!
