When island hopping Greece, a visit to Athens is a must!
It’s the largest city and as the country’s capital so you’ll have no problem finding somewhere to stay.
However, above all else, I highly recommend going for an Acropolis-view hotel.
The Acropolis is one of the most iconic sights in the city and because of this, there are endless hotels and apartments that offer fascinating views of it.
Whether you’re on a budget or looking to splash out, you’re certain to find something you like!
So let’s take a look at the best hotels in Athens with a view of the Acropolis!
If you’re looking for hotels with the best view of the Acropolis then check out Acropolian Spirit Boutique Hotel.
This place is undeniably beautiful and it’s just a 5-minute walk from the Acropolis. Due to its fantastic location, naturally many of the rooms here offer stunning views of this iconic landmark.
There are a variety of accommodation choices available but there are three main options if you’re looking for an Acropolis-view room. These are the Superior with Acropolis-view, Premium Acropolis view with balcony, and Divine Athens with Acropolis-view.
Any of these will offer you a stay like no other! You’ll also benefit from free breakfast, free WiFi, air conditioning, and plenty of other amenities.
The Acropolian Spirit Boutique Hotel has lots of awesome facilities too including a rooftop restaurant. From here, you’ll be treated to epic views of the Acropolis!
There’s also an on-site business center, a travel desk, beauty and massage services (upon request), and vehicle rentals.
As you can see, this hotel has a lot going for it so it’s the perfect option if you’re heading to Athens!
If you’re looking to stay in the center of the city then Acropolis View Hotel is one of the best options!
There are 32 rooms in total at this hotel and each one has been designed to be modern and comfortable. For the best experience, you’ll want to opt for an Acropolis-view room.
These rooms feature a private balcony where you’ll have the views all to yourself. However, no matter which room you go for, you’ll benefit from a variety of amenities including free WiFi and a TV.
Not only are the rooms incredibly reasonable but you’ll also be in a great location for exploring the city. Aside from the Acropolis being so close, you’ll be within walking distance of other archaeological sites too.
The best thing about this hotel though has to be the rooftop terrace as the views from here are spectacular! It’s the perfect spot to watch the sunset, grab a drink, and admire the city’s breathtaking architecture.
So what are you waiting for?
A for Athens is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in the city!
Famous for its lively rooftop bar, jaw-dropping views of the Acropolis, and luxurious suites - it’s no wonder so many people choose to stay here.
The most luxurious accommodation options at this hotel include the Blue Suite Acropolis View and the Red Suite Acropolis View. The latter offers an outdoor jacuzzi and private terrace where you’ll get to relax and admire the views in peace.
Like many of the other hotels in this guide, A for Athens features a rooftop bar and restaurant. Whether you’re looking to grab breakfast, have dinner, or relax with a cocktail, you don’t want to miss out on this place.
Even better, the bar is open into the early hours of the morning making it a fantastic option when it comes to nightlife.
Not only that but it’s just a short walk away from Monastiraki Square, and the neighborhoods of Plaka and Psirri; all of which are known for their nightlife.
Next up we have 360 Degrees, which is just a short walk away from the city’s historical sites. The hotel is situated in the neighborhood of Monastiraki too so you’ll be centrally located.
Boasting gorgeous rooms, plenty of amenities, a fantastic location, and a great atmosphere, it’s a brilliant choice if you’re planning to stay in this amazing city.
However, the best part about this hotel has to be the rooms. Each one is decorated beautifully and they’re all rather unique, with a variety of quirky features.
This includes funky posters, unusual lights, and some other cool amenities like a typewriter and dial-up phone. Unfortunately, there aren’t any Acropolis-view rooms here but don’t you worry!
Instead, you can head up to the rooftop restaurant where you’ll get breathtaking views of the Acropolis, especially when it’s all lit up at night. Here, you can also taste delicious Greek and Mediterranean dishes.
360 Degrees actually has another hotel in the city called 360 Pop Art Hotel so you can always check that one out too if you wish!
King George is one of the best hotels in Athens and is the perfect option if you’re looking for a luxury getaway.
Situated within Syntagma Square, this hotel offers a getaway experience like no other. With gorgeous suites, plenty of facilities, and jaw-dropping views of the city and Acropolis - it’s no wonder it’s such a big hit.
King George, a Luxury Collection Hotel dates back to the 1930s so it’s got plenty of history. It’s in a great location for exploring Athens, but the highlight of this place has to be its suites.
There are 102 rooms in general, with the most luxurious being the Penthouse Suite. It’s situated on the ninth floor so offers fantastic views of the Acropolis and it features a private rooftop pool.
However, for a lower budget, you’ll also find plenty of other rooms and suites that offer views of the city’s most famous landmark.
During your stay at this hotel, you’ll benefit from the Tudor Hall Restaurant which serves delicious food and offers panoramic city views. It’s also won several awards!
There are plenty of hotels in Athens with Acropolis views but sometimes you just want a bit extra space. That’s where The Pinnacle Athens comes in as it’s an aparthotel that offers fully-equipped studios and suites.
Many of these units offer floor-to-ceiling glass windows so you’ll be treated to incredible city views. You’ll also have a private kitchenette, a seating area, and plenty of other amenities.
These suites sleep between 2-6 people which makes them a great option for couples, groups, and families. Considering what's on offer, the price is extremely reasonable too, especially when split between people.
Another reason to stay at The Pinnacle Athens is the facilities on offer. For starters, there’s a roof garden here where you’ll get stunning views of the Acropolis.
On-site there’s also an art gallery, a shared lounge area, a meeting room, and a quirky gift store full of unique jewelry, ornaments, and art pieces.
If you’re still not convinced then this hotel even offers bicycle and car rentals.
There are plenty of Athens hotels near the Acropolis but this place offers something special. For starters, it’s located in the charming neighborhood of Plaka and is close to Syntagma Square.
Aside from its fantastic location, Central Hotel also offers cozy rooms, great facilities, and a rooftop bar. Some of the rooms at this hotel even offer Acropolis views and they’re pretty spacious too.
There are lots of reasons to stay at Central Hotel including free breakfast, access to an Internet corner, free WiFi, and airport transfers (these are available upon request).
This place is a great option for romantic getaways too as the staff are happy to arrange flower bouquets and champagne for an extra charge. You’ll also get a special discount for the city’s luxurious health club - Homes Place.
This place has so much to offer but just wait until you see the views from The Terrace Bar & Restaurant. Spending some time here during your stay is a must and a magical experience for sure, especially as they offer exclusive cocktails.
Athens 21 is in a very central location as it’s right next to Monastiraki Square. From here, you’ll be within walking distance of the Roman Agora, the National Historic Museum, and the Ancient Agora of Athens.
The hotel offers a variety of rooms sleeping between 2-4 people and is one of the best hotels in Athens near the Acropolis. In fact, some of the rooms offer a private balcony where you’ll get scenic views of this iconic place.
There are five types of rooms to choose from with the 1st-floor standard double rooms being the cheapest. The Deluxe Double Room is the one you’ll want to go for as it’s the only type that offers views of the Acropolis.
Unlike some of the other hotels in this guide, you won’t have access to a rooftop terrace. So, if you opt for a room that doesn’t have Acropolis views there isn’t another alternative to see it.
However, the suites here are incredibly spacious and pretty budget-friendly too which is why they’re such a catch - even without the views.
If you’re looking for Acropolis view hotels in Athens then you’ll want to check out this place! Electra Palace Athens is a 5* hotel that has everything you could think of and more.
Firstly, it’s one of the only hotels in the city that features a rooftop pool. Here, you can take a dip or relax on a sun lounger whilst admiring epic views of the Acropolis!
On this rooftop terrace, you’ll also have an award-winning restaurant that’s known for its tasty Mediterranean dishes. Not only that but Electra Palace Athens has two bars as well, including a poolside bar.
When it comes to suites there are plenty to choose from, but you’ll want to go for an Acropolis-view room. This is clearly stated when you go to book and includes Premium Rooms with a balcony, Junior Suites, and Acropolis-view Suites.
There’s also the super luxurious Presidential Suite which features a private pool, a spacious terrace area, and stunning views of the Acropolis.
If you don’t mind splashing the cash this may be the place for you!
When it comes to the best Athens hotels, I couldn’t leave out this beautiful place! Coco-mat Athens BC is another luxury 5* hotel but its facilities are on a whole other level.
During your stay here, you’ll benefit from an on-site spa, fitness center, outdoor swimming pool, and meeting room. There’s also an awesome roof garden that offers spectacular views of the Acropolis and the surrounding city.
Another great thing about staying here is the food as Coco-mat Athens BC prides itself on homemade dishes and healthy meals.
When it comes to the rooms, you won’t have a shortage of options. In fact, they offer one of the widest ranges of Acropolis-view rooms in the city.
You’ll have the choice of Acropolis Suites, Acropolis-view Rooms, Museum-view rooms (which overlook the new Acropolis Museum), and the Master Suite.
No matter which one you go for, you’ll have plenty of amenities and a spacious, cozy room to relax in. Your breakfast is often included too depending on which booking option you go for!
If you don’t mind splashing the cash then I highly recommend checking out Hotel Grande Bretagne. This gorgeous 5* hotel is the very definition of a luxury Athens hotel, so what are you waiting for?
Boasting extensive facilities including a rooftop pool, beautiful suites, and a fantastic location, this hotel has everything you could need.
In terms of rooms, there are 320 in total at this hotel. The most luxurious options include the Penthouse Suite, the Royal Suite, and the Presidential Suite, and even better - they come with personalized butler service.
Not only that but there are endless dining options at Hotel Grande Bretagne. You’ll have the option of seven different places including THE ATRIUM of Alexander's Lounge, Alexander's Bar, and the Winter Garden.
However, I’d recommend dining at The GB Roof Garden Restaurant and grabbing a drink at Bar 8. Both of these establishments offer spectacular views of the Acropolis, especially when it’s lit up at night.
During your stay, you’ll also want to spend some time at The Grande Bretagne Spa!
If you’re heading to Athens on a budget then make sure you check out L'Avventura Athens. They offer extremely cost-effective rooms, even if you opt for a Veranda option with city views!
The cheapest option is their economy double room but you’ll definitely want to go for the balcony option, especially because there’s not that much difference when it comes to price.
You’ll also be in a great location for exploring the city as you’ll be close to several iconic attractions including the Temple of Hephaestus, the Ancient Agora of Athens, and the Roman Agora.
Monastiraki Metro Station is close by too so you’ll have no problems getting around the city! There’s also a 24-hour front desk on-site and the staff are always happy to help with any questions you may have.
L'Avventura Athens co-operates with local tour providers too so they can offer you a variety of activities. This includes walking food tours, wine tasting, boat trips, and bike tours.
What more could you ask for?
You’ll find plenty of Athens hotels with views of the Acropolis, but this one has a lot to offer!
Athens City View Urban Suites is located right in the heart of the city and is a great option for couples or small groups/families. From your front door, you’ll have easy access to attractions, bars, and restaurants.
There are several different room options at this hotel and some of these feature a private balcony. Here, you’ll have an outdoor table and chairs and if you’re lucky, your room might have a stunning view of the Acropolis.
Like L'Avventura Athens (which I just mentioned), this place is a fantastic choice for budget travelers. Depending on the time of year, you can get some incredible deals - especially when it comes to the Junior Suites.
Not only are the rooms cozy and inexpensive, but you’ll even have access to a terrace area.
Better yet, Athens City View Urban Suites also offers car rentals, laundry services, and concierge services.
As you can see, you’ll get a lot for your money if you decide to stay here!
Now this one isn’t exactly a hotel but I thought I’d include it in here anyway! This luxury apartment sleeps two adults and is the perfect option if you’re looking for a romantic holiday.
Boasting fantastic views of the Acropolis right from your bedroom, a cozy interior, and a heated hot tub, this place has everything you’ll need.
It’s an open-plan design that features a kitchen, lounge area, double bed, and a spacious outside area. Here, there’s outdoor furniture where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine!
However, it’s not just the apartment's design that sets it apart from others in the city. It’s also got a great location as you’ll be close to several iconic spots including the Ancient Agora of Athens and Monastiraki Flea Market.
There’s no denying that there are plenty of incredible Acropolis-view hotels in Athens. However, sometimes it’s just nice to have your own space and all the facilities of a home away from home.
So if you’re looking to spend some time with your significant other then make sure you take a look at this Acropolis View Luxury Apartment!
If you’re heading to Athens as a family, it can be hard to find somewhere that can accommodate you all (and for a great price).
When there are so many of you, sometimes it’s just better to find a self-contained apartment that has all the facilities you’ll need. If that’s the case, then Alexander’s Penthouse is a great option as there are three different apartments available.
The three apartments are all deluxe penthouses but have different names; Temple of Zeus, Parthenon, and Acropolis. All of them offer fantastic views of Athens's most iconic landmark, and they sleep between 4-6 people.
The largest apartment is the Deluxe Penthouse Temple of Zeus, but the others are just as striking. Each one is decorated beautifully and you’ll have plenty of space no matter which one you choose.
One of the best things about staying in these apartments is that you’ll be in a great location for exploring the city. Popular spots like the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Acropolis Museum are both within walking distance.
