I’ve been reviewing eSIM brands for the last 3 years, and every year, more and more companies appear!
This is because eSIMs are the latest technology to make staying connected abroad so much easier. Gone are the days of losing those physical sim cards, or even waiting for long queues at airports on arrival into a new country to get one (never mind the language barrier!).
eSIMs are digital, instant and easy, and in this review, we are going to explore Soovia and how they stand out in the eSIM market.
Soovia is a relatively new player in the travel-eSIM arena, but one that aims to stand out by offering simplicity, transparency and flexible data plans for travellers.
Their eSIM works in 150+ countries, enabling instant eSIM activation, 4G/5G support and no hidden fees
Furthermore, Soovia’s offering centres on a fully digital process (QR code installation), prepaid data packages from modest to substantial sizes (1 GB up to 50 GB+/up to ~180 day validity) and both local/country-based and global coverage options.

The process is pretty straightforward:
Here are some sample plan/pricing details for popular destinations.
United Kingdom (single-country plan) – Plans start from US $1.00 for ~500 MB; and go up to US $59.60 for 50 GB.

This works out at just less than $1.20 per GB on a 50GB plan, which is a good deal!
You can choose eSIMs for a variety of durations including, 7 days to 30 days. So this works well if you’re doing a business trip, or heading out on a longer adventure.
I also love that they offer regional plans, and one of the most common regional plans I personally use is Europe.
Their Europe offering covers 30+ European destinations, including:
..and plans start at $3.75 for 1GB! I like that plans go from 7, 15 and 30 days, so it can be flexible with how much time you’re spending in Europe, and you can get up to 20GB, which I think is more than you need on a European trip anyway.

I often find that somewhere around the 10GB mark is good for a 10 day trip. Europe is well connected with WiFi zones too, so I find the eSIM perfect for those in between moments, or when I’m going a little off grid (i,e mountains!)
OH, and most importantly, you can hot spot with this eSIM, which is a big thing for me as a digital nomad.
Other regional plans include North America, Asia, Caribbean, South America and Africa.
They even have a global eSIM, which is fast becoming a popular choice.
Back when I started reviewing eSIMs there were only one or two companies doing this, but nowadays there are many more which is GREAT because you have so much more choice when it comes to pricing.
With Soovia, their Global plan covers over 130+ countries which pretty much has you covered for unlimited travel.
Their Global plan is 5G ready, and the options start from 1 week to 30 days. You can get as little as 1GB for $19 or go the whole way up to 20GB if you need it!
The Global eSIM is also hotspot ready and you can connect up to 5 devices simultaneously while traveling through major cities across Global.

I’m currently not anywhere exotic (unless you think the UK is exotic, then good for you ;) ), but I am staying in a remote little village, which is full of charm, and you guessed it, poor signal! :P
My current network isn’t working too great, so I thought I’d get the UK eSIM and see how quickly setup is and how the app is too.
For reference the UK eSIM uses 3 network operators, whereas my phone is stuck to “one”, which means the eSIM will be able to tether to the strongest network in the area. In this case, it uses Vodafone (3,4 and 5G), 02 (3,4 and 5g), and “3” (3, 4 and 5G).
I put a timer on as soon as I made an account to see just how long it takes for me to set up an eSIM.
It took me 26 seconds to find and buy the eSIM and for the whole purchase to happen.
Now you can enter the eSIM manually if you can’t scan the QR code to another device..
But I’m on my laptop, so I can send the QR code to myself on messenger and scan the code with my phone..
Once I did that, everything took about another minute, so I had my eSIM set up and ready to go in under 2 minutes!
Pretty good!
The signal was automatically better than my “home” data, as the eSIM was connected to the “vodaphone” network, which I’m not part of!
The next time I head off on a trip, I’ll be able to give this eSIM a better test abroad, but my first impressions are strong.
I like how clean and easy to use the app is too. Trust me, eSIM brands can over complicate their websites, and it’s so unnecessary!
For most of us globe-trotting adventurers, the answer is a big, “YES!”.
If you’re off on a trip to one country (or just a region), and love the idea of buying your eSIM from the comfort of your couch ahead of time, installing it in minutes and skipping the whole airport-SIM-kiosk chaos — then Soovia is exactly the kind of smooth solution you’ll want in your travel kit.
The pricing is super-friendly (especially for modest data use in places like the UK), and the fact you can choose between single-country, regional or global tiers means it’ll suit a variety of travel styles.
Now — if you’re the kind of traveller who’s streaming in airport lounges, tethering an entire network of devices, working remotely while perched on some cliff in Bali or trekking off-grid in less visited parts of the world — then just make sure you pick a plan with the data you’ll need.
Double-check network/tethering performance in your destination(s), and maybe compare it with a specialist provider if you’re headed well off the beaten track.
In short: Soovia deserves a solid spot in your eSIM shortlist. It ticks a whole bunch of boxes: simplicity, transparency, flexibility and fair pricing.
Sure, it may not yet have decades of global feedback like some older brands, but if you’re comfortable with that and do a smidge of homework, it could turn out to be the perfect match for your next adventure.
