Concept Global Travel Sling Bag 2.0 Review: Is the Regular Size Worth It?

Who are Concept Global?

Concept Global is a travel accessories brand focused on practical bags designed to keep everyday essentials organised, accessible and protected. Its Travel Sling Bag 2.0 builds on its original sling with upgraded materials, additional security features and improved functionality for travel and everyday use.

Concept Global Travel Sling Bag 2.0: specifications

The Regular size sits between the Mini and Max versions, offering additional room for everyday items without the larger footprint of the biggest model.

Specification

Height: 22 cm

Width: 15 cm

Depth: 4 cm

Strap: Adjustable, up to 130 cm

Main material: 500D nylon

Zippers : YKK

Security: Reinforced strap, locking buckle, zipper locks, hidden pocket, RFID-blocking fabric

Intended use: Travel, commuting and everyday carry

Design and build quality

One of the most important changes to the Travel Sling 2.0 is its upgraded construction. Concept Global specifies 500D nylon, YKK zippers and RFID-blocking fabric, with the intention of making the bag more durable and suitable for regular use.

The overall appeal of a sling like this is its relatively compact shape.

Rather than carrying a full backpack for a day of sightseeing, you can keep your most frequently used belongings in one place and access them without having to take off a larger bag.

The Regular measures 22 × 15 × 4 cm, with an adjustable strap that extends to 130 cm. That makes the fit and the way the bag sits against your body important considerations, particularly if you intend to wear it for extended periods.

In my testing, I pay particular attention to how the fabric feels, whether the zippers run smoothly, and whether the bag keeps its shape once packed.

I personally love the feel of the material, and think the YKK zippers are smooth!

Anti-theft features: what makes the Travel Sling 2.0 different?

Security is the defining feature of the Concept Global Travel Sling 2.0. Rather than relying on a single security detail, it combines several features intended to theft more difficult.

1. Steel-cable-reinforced strap

The strap contains internal steel cable reinforcement, designed to resist cutting.

This is particularly relevant when travelling in crowded places, where a bag could be vulnerable to someone attempting to slash the strap and grab it.

It's worth remembering that reinforced construction is a deterrent, not a guarantee that a bag cannot be stolen or damaged.

2. Three-point locking buckle

The updated buckle uses a three-point locking system, adding an extra step to releasing the strap.

This is useful because it makes the bag less straightforward to detach quickly than a conventional quick-release buckle.

3. Locking zippers

The Travel Sling 2.0 also features locking zippers, intended to make the main compartments more difficult to open unnoticed.

This is especially relevant when the bag is worn in busy public places. The important thing is to demonstrate how the locks engage and whether they're convenient enough to use regularly.

4. Hidden back pocket

The hidden pocket against the back of the bag is one of the most practical security features.

It provides a discreet place for small valuables such as cash, cards or other essentials you don't necessarily need to access constantly. Because it sits against your body, it's also less visible than an external pocket.

For me, this is a particularly useful feature for carrying backup essentials while travelling.

5. RFID-blocking fabric

The bag also uses RFID-blocking fabric, which is designed to help protect compatible cards, passports and identification documents against unauthorised RFID scans.

It's an additional privacy feature, although it doesn't replace ordinary precautions such as keeping your wallet secure and being mindful of where you carry your valuables.

Together, these features make security a central part of the bag's design rather than an afterthought - which is a nice touch!

Capacity and organisation: what fits inside?

The Regular size is designed for people who want a little more room than a phone-and-keys sling, without carrying a much larger bag.

According to Concept Global, it can accommodate the Mini's essentials alongside larger items such as a power bank, bulkier wallet, sunglasses and even a small water bottle.

For a realistic packing test, I'd start with:

  • Smartphone and wallet
  • Passport
  • Keys and earbuds
  • Sunglasses
  • Power bank and charging cable
  • A small hand sanitiser
  • A few travel essentials

The most useful thing to evaluate here is not simply whether everything fits, but how easily you can get to it. A bag can technically accommodate a lot of items but still be frustrating if you have to remove everything to find one particular thing. You can check out our packing short here.

I'd also test the hidden pocket separately, to see which valuables fit comfortably without making the bag awkward to wear.

Comfort and fit

A travel sling needs to be comfortable enough to wear for extended periods, particularly if you're using it for sightseeing or commuting.

The adjustable strap allows you to change how the bag sits across your body, whether you prefer a higher chest position or a slightly lower fit.

The most important thing to assess is how the bag feels when it's fully packed. An empty sling may look slim and comfortable, but the weight and shape of its contents can make a considerable difference.

If you can, I'd test it while walking, sitting down and accessing the compartments.

Water resistance: can it handle the rain?

Concept Global describes the Travel Sling 2.0 as water-resistant, with its upgraded 500D nylon construction intended to improve durability and weather resistance.

On our video review, we do a "water test" where we esentially spray the sling with shower water, to see how it can uphold- in my test, the sling will be fine in light rain weather but would struggle in a thunderstorm, and isn't sumbersimble (but it doesn't claim to be!)

Heavy or prolonged rain can behave very differently, especially around zippers and stitching- and I don't think it would hold up.

So just be wary of that, depending on where you are travelling.

Pros and cons

Let's overview some of the general pros and cons of the Concept Global Travel Sling Bag!

Pros

  • Multiple security features, including a reinforced strap and locking buckle.
  • Hidden back pocket for discreet storage of valuables.
  • RFID-blocking fabric for compatible cards and documents.
  • Compact Regular size with room for more than just the basics.
  • 500D nylon construction and YKK zippers.
  • Suitable for travel as well as everyday activities.
  • Stylish bag and colour options.
  • Good price point.

Cons

  • The Regular size may still be restrictive for bulkier everyday carry.
  • When it is not full the bag can sag on front
  • Water-resistant construction shouldn't be mistaken for a fully waterproof bag.

Is the Concept Global Travel Sling Bag 2.0 worth it?

The Concept Global Travel Sling Bag 2.0 is designed for travellers who want to carry their everyday essentials in a compact bag with a strong focus on security.

Its most distinctive features are the steel-cable-reinforced strap, three-point locking buckle, locking zippers and hidden back pocket. The RFID-blocking fabric and upgraded materials add further functionality, while the Regular size offers more room than the Mini for items such as sunglasses, a power bank and a small water bottle.

I personally love that it comes in different sizing options to suit everyone.

Whether it's the right choice ultimately depends on your everyday carry and how much you value its security features. If you travel light and prefer having your essentials close at hand, the Regular size is worth considering. If you regularly carry a tablet, larger headphones or a substantial amount of gear, you may want to compare it with the Max version.

The biggest question I'd ask before buying is whether the bag's security features and compact organisation match the way you actually travel.

I also think it's a great price. It's not overly expensive- it seems like a worthwhile investment for a sling bag that should serve you well on your daily day travels- and your day to day life..
