We have used Booking.com for the majority of our travels around Central America, but of course, it is completely up to you how you book accommodation for your next trip. Having effectively booked over 90% of our accommodation through Booking.com and having been happy every time, we like to continue to use them.
We do so because it is so simple and fast to book a new place to stay and the selection of hotels, hostels and guest houses is vast. The site offers for all budgets and styles but best of all, we love their reward scheme and think you will, too.
With their Genius Members offers, you can save yourself 10% on your accommodation and may just be in with a chance of getting your hands on some bonus added extras, like free welcome drinks.
At the same time, Agoda is usually our second choice for booking accommodation wherever we travel, including Nicaragua. Though their range of properties is not as wide as Booking.com, they seem to be becoming increasingly competitive on price.
In fact, when you account for their cashback scheme (AgodaCash), many properties are actually cheaper here. I also love how modern their site is, as well as their recommendations tool that gets to know which sorts of properties you typically book and gives you tailored discounts.
Either way, before booking your chosen hotel in Ometepe, take a look and see how the price compares on both Booking.com and Agoda, that way you know you’re definitely getting the best deal. That’s our approach.
